Google Doodle Alert!

Categorized in:

It’s only been a few days but Google has already graced its home page with yet another doodle. This time it’s in honor of 100th anniversary International Women’s Day.

The day is a celebration of women’s achievements and women’s causes throughout the globe.

This year the theme of International Women’s Day is ‘Women on the Bridge’. When you click on the doodle it takes you to a page where it encourages you the join the ‘women on the bridge’.

Tens of thousands of people will be coming together on major bridges around the world—from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to the Millennium Bridge in London—in honor of the day.

If you can’t make it to a physical bridge, the Google page allows you to check in to a bridge virtually through a Google places map. It also has a key so you know who is hosting each of the global events.

The bottom of the page also encourages you to donate to a cause you feel strongly about. They vary from the empowerment of women to focus on their health care. You have the option to donate to a variety of organizations that support each cause.

But be sure to check out the actual doodle on Google’s homepage!
