Springtime in Houston

I love spring in Houston.  The weather is mostly bearable, residents like me flock to find the best patios around town, mosquitos aren’t quite out in full force yet and people just seem happier! A few weeks ago, Adrienne gave a glimpse of the music scene Houston has to offer and Jessie knows all of the best places to find amazing food around town.  Today, I’d like to brag about some fabulous spring activities that make Houston special, and happen to be a damn good time, too!

April 20-21, April 27-28
If you haven’t experience the two-weekend IFest, you don’t know what you’re missing.  I’ve been enjoying this festival since I was a little girl when my mom and I would make an afternoon out of it.  IFest is spotlighting Brazil this year, so the food is sure to be great.  Even better news: the festival boasts an even better lineup of musicians each year. You can definitely catch me at the Aaron Neville stage the last Sunday of the festival!

April 29 – May 4
Discovery Green is one of my absolute favorite places in town, especially during this time of year. Oddly enough, I’m excited to be a part of an indoor activity making it’s way to the park this month, Architects of Air. Check out this video to see what it’s all about!

I can’t stop eating crawfish. During crawfish season, I’m literally hunting down the best bugs on a weekly (sometimes daily basis). Combine a boil with good friends, good music and a great cause? I’m in! Hope to see y’all at Goode Company BBQ’s Armadillo Palace Craw-Wish Boil benefiting Make a Wish Foundation!

Hope to see you at these great local events and more this season!
