Yes its been a couple of weeks since the ‘Social Media News Flash’ and we do apologize, but hey, we’ve been working on a lot of exciting things—including the release of our new website next week!!
It’s definitely been eventful, not only for integratePR, but also in the digital world. Here are a few stories that you want to be up to date on:
1) Facebook’s Value Increased
According to a recently released investment stake from General Atlantic, Facebook is now valued at $65 billion thanks to its .1% of the company. Previously the company was valued at an already impressive $50 billion after Goldman Sachs and Digital Sky Technologies investsments in January. The deal is not closed yet, but we’re sure there will be a more formal announcement once it is
2) Windows Tablet in the Works?
Rumor has it that Windows, which is the biggest software company in the world, will not be releasing a tablet of their own until 2012. They plan on releasing it in time for the fall ‘back-to-school’ sale, according to an article in Bloomberg. The rumors say testing of software for the tablet will begin at the end of this year.
3) Twitter Updated iPhone and iPad Apps
Thursday Twitter launched its updates of the iPhone and iPad apps. The update includes enhanced photo options, automatic link shortening and the ability to follow friends via contacts in your address book. The iPhone app also added a ‘Quick Bar’ to allow users to quickly view trending topics.
