Austin Coffee Guide: Best Coffee Shops to Work From

It’s no lie the BriteIdea team LOVES coffee! Like most companies in ATX, we’re always in and out of our actual office , which has helped us master the art of making anywhere our on-the-go office. Because of our coffee obsession, we are the experts qualified to create the perfect Austin coffee guide. We couldn’t be happier that we live in this Coffee obsessed city and we are excited to share our Austin coffee guide with you. With so many options to choose from, we decided to round up our eight favorite spots to help you find your perfect brew and workspace. So, look no further for any other Austin coffee guide. Whether you’re in between offices, need a change of scenery for some motivation, or you’re looking for the ideal place to take clients, we’ve got a spot for you!

BETTER HALF COFFEE & COCKTAILS

Better Half is a coffee shop located in downtown Austin, but with a huge FREE parking lot. Yes, you read that right. Better Half Coffee is located on West 5th street and has an all-day cafe with a mix of the classics like lattes, cortados, and expresso, but they also have a modern take on Coffee with their ‘spro spritz. Bring your four-legged friend and tackle some work on their patio!

Juice Society

Cold-pressed juice might be Juice Society ‘s main staple, but with a top-notch espresso machine, you’d be mistaken not to give their Coffee a try! Earlier this year, they introduced the build-your-own adaptogen lattes. Giving you control over the flavor of your coffee and the ability to add the supplements you need. Maybe it’s adding MCT oil for all-day natural feeling energy or cordyceps to keep stress at bay. Space is bright, airy, and quiet to keep you motivated for an all-day working session. Did we mention they have outlets under every table? We can’t think of a better place to get work done!

Walton’s Fancy and Staple

A brick-walled bakery and deli with so much rustic charm, Walton’s Fancy and Staple is the perfect place for client or team meetings! Generally quiet on weekdays and with both ample outdoor and indoor seating, there’s no need to fight over a spot. Walton’s Fancy and Staple is a favorite of our Business Development Manager; you might see her there!

Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden

Unlike Walton’s Fancy and Staple, indoor seating at Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden may be tight but is slowly made up for with a huge outdoor sitting area surrounded by lush gardens and chickens. Yes, you read that, right! Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden has a focus on sustainability, by using “rainwater harvesting, chicken coops, on-site composting, biological ponds, raised-bed rainwater, and waterfall gardens that attract pollinators and provide [the Cosmic Coffee team] with herbs, nuts, vegetables, eggs, and fruit.” All of the outdoor seating is surrounded by misters and fans to ensure you keep cool while you work. Live music starts at 7 pm every Tuesdays and Wednesday, so why not hang around and make it a work happy hour?

EPOCH COFFEE

Why do we love Epoch Coffee? For starters, they have great coffee, breakfast tacos, pastries (pro-tip: try the jam biscuit) and on top of that, there is a general get-ish done vibe. Unlike other coffee shops where you have a mix of people chatting and catching up with the occasional person trying to focus on work sprinkled in, Epoch has some unwritten rule-keeping work the highest priority for all patrons. Whether you’re conducting an interview or keeping your head down to power through your workday — Epoch is the place for you!

Picnik

Any place with a motto of “but first coffee” is a friend of ours! With three locations covering both North, South, and East Austin, Picnik is our go-to for an afternoon pick me up. Although they may not be the best place for an all-day working session due to their lack of wifi, they are an excellent spot to grab and go Coffee. Their speedy baristas whip up iced or hot Coffee packed with butter and MCT oil for a steady boost of energy without the dreadful coffee crash. If you’re like us and always on the go, whether it be visiting clients or pitching prospects, then trust us you’ll want to pop into Picnik!

Radio Coffee & Beer

Radio Coffee & Beer takes a lot of pride in sourcing only the best Coffee — they believe Coffee should be delicious and sweet, not bitter. One of our favorite things is their gorgeous and huge outdoor patio with outlets as far as the eye can see! On top of serving Coffee, Radio Coffee & Beer is home to Veracruz All Natural Tacos, a favorite of our Social Media Manager. With Bluegrass on Mondays and Trivia on Wednesdays, is not only this the perfect place for a workday but also an excellent spot for your next team building night!

Flat Track Coffee Roasters

Part coffee shop + part Bike Shop = this East Austin staple. Whether you’re looking to camp out all day or buy a bag of their in house-roasted coffee beans, you won’t be disappointed! We recommend grabbing an Iced Horchata with a shot of espresso and heading out to their covered patio. Seating can get tight, even on weekdays, so get there early!
