It looks like Apple isn’t the only who needs to be worried about Android. Today it has officially been announced that Android has replaced Blackberry as the nation’s #1 smart phone.
While this may not come as a huge surprise, since Android numbers have been gaining pace for quite sometime now, it’s still a significant turn of events in the realm of smart phones.
According to recent data released by comScore, Android went from a 23.5% market share in October, to a 31.2% share in January 2011. A recent report released by Nielsen also claimed Android as the number one smart phone platform in the U.S.
Google’s Android success doesn’t seem to be slowing down. 2011 has proven to be a good year so far; we look forward to seeing what else it holds for Android.
